Six pieces that cover most of the week
A short rail of clothes that all go together saves time in the morning and money at the till.

A navy overshirt, a white oxford shirt, a grey knit, dark jeans, chinos and one pair of brown leather shoes will mix into most outfits you need.
Buy for fit before anything else. A tailor can take in a waist or shorten a sleeve, and it's worth asking for a price before you rule it out.
When something wears out, replace it with the same thing, so everything on the rail still goes with everything else.
