What this site stores, what the Meta pixel sends, and how to switch it off.

Who runs this site

The Man Brief (themanbrief.com) is run by its publisher, called “the publisher” on this page. You can reach the publisher about anything on this page at hello@themanbrief.com.

What we collect

You can read the whole site without signing up, and there are no forms or comments. The pages are delivered by Cloudflare, which also serves the images, and the fonts load from Google Fonts. Like any web server, those services see your IP address and basic browser details so they can send you the page.

Cookies and similar storage

We store one small item in your browser's local storage, called cp_consent, to remember whether you pressed Accept or Reject. It stays on your device and isn't sent to us.

The only optional cookie is the Meta pixel, described below. It stays off until you press Accept.

The Meta pixel

If you accept, your browser loads a script from Meta (connect.facebook.net) and sends Meta a page-view event. That event includes the address of the page you're on, your IP address, browser and device details, and Meta's own cookies, such as _fbp. Our advertiser Curate uses these page views to measure and plan its adverts on Facebook and Instagram. We don't send Meta anything you type, and there's nothing to type on this site.

Meta handles this data under its own privacy policy, at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Changing your mind

You can withdraw consent at any time. Press “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choose Reject, and the pixel won't load on the pages you open after that. To remove cookies Meta has already set, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what data is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Email hello@themanbrief.com. If you're unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
